ARCHIVED: SITUATIONISTS – “UNDER THE PAVEMENT, THE BEACH (DEMO)”

Sous les pavés la plage.

So, here we are, opening up the past to mark the Tough Love five year anniversary. I suppose that if you’re going to excavate history for the purpose of celebrating the imminent future, then maybe Mai ‘68 rhetoric isn’t entirely appropriate. But 5 years doesn’t make an institution of us. We’re not old guard, yet.

Either way, this song still sounds as loose-limbed and effervescent as it did when I first heard it roughly 3 years ago; the first song they ever laid to tape.

Incidentally, for those that care for such things, I believe Situationists recorded this using Pound Shop microphones. When you’re in your little room, working on something good, I guess everything else can go fuck itself.

LISTEN, THE SNOW IS FAILING

Last year we released mini-xmas album Listen, The Snow Is Failing as a free download. As you may not all know about this, I thought I’d post it again. The Favours for Sailors and Situationists songs are easily among the best things they ever did. Happy birthday, Jesus, thanks for nothing

Tracklisting:

1. Situationists – “Cold Out”
2. Favours for Sailors – “Hanging From Your Xmas Tree”
3. Empty Set – “Christmas Is The Best Day To Be Alone”
4. Fake Passport Office – “Christmas Abroad”
5. Honeytrap – “Empty Blue Holes”
6. Situationists – “Fabric & Thread”
