Two days ahead of the start of their UK tour with Paul Weller, The Stroppies have today shared ‘Up To My Elbows’, the latest track from their forthcoming LP, Levity. You can stream/download from the usual places now. A limited edition vinyl pressing of album, which includes a bonus two song 7″, is available to pre-order now here
Talking about the track, the band said:
‘Up to my Elbows’ was built off a jam we had managed to squeeze in between lockdowns. When we first found the groove of the song something really magic happened and I think we just wilted away a good hour jamming on the riff cycle. Putting lyrics to the music is always challenging when you’ve established something so resolved in a jam setting but Claude came through with the goods and the resulting song seems to serve as a through line from the band’s earlier work into the present. It’s an anxious song masquerading as upbeat: a dichotomy we like to employ a lot in our music”
